TRIYAN T2 three-wheel hybrid drone-scooter parked on a rural Indian laterite road at golden hour

T2 · Skip-lift trike

Skip the pothole. Carry two.

A hybrid drone-scooter for India’s kachcha roads — ride like an electric auto, hop like a ducted-fan craft when the tarmac disappears.

Studio

Ground machine. Air moment.

Ride it like an electric auto. When the road opens a crater, the ducts spool, the chassis lifts one metre, and the wheels miss the hole.

Kachcha road

Hold to skip the hole.

A laterite feeder in monsoon season. Auto-skip arms the ducts when a crater is twelve metres out — or hold Space / the road to hop by hand.

Systems

Built for the road that is, not the one on the map.

Chassis

Three-wheel stance

India already runs on three wheels. TRIYAN keeps the reverse-trike footprint of a Bajaj RE so it threads PMGSY lanes, village bazaars, and 2.2 m culverts — then adds a tubular roll cage and 220 mm ground clearance for rutted laterite.

Ducts

Skip-lift, not flight

Four ducted fans live in folding outriggers. They do not cruise in the air. They spool for six to ten seconds, lift the 498 kg all-up mass one metre, and put the wheels down past the crater. Ground effect at 0.4–0.8 m cuts the power bill enough to make the hop real.

Sense

Pothole eyes

A stereo pair in the nose and ultrasonic pucks under the belly watch the next twelve metres. Depth over 80 mm or a lip over 400 mm wide arms skip-lift. The rider can always hold the bar trigger and hop by hand.

Power

Kirana-shop energy

A 14.4 kWh lithium-iron pack sits between the rear wheels, low and protected. Charge from any 15 A 230 V socket — the same plug as a water heater. Fourteen hops and a 60 km mandi run still leave a reserve.

Missions

Two people, a kit, a broken feeder.

Taluka PHC, 14 km

Clinic run

Two-up, one medical kit. Six monsoon craters on the approach road. Auto-skip keeps the stretcher-flat ride instead of a 20-minute crawl around each hole.

Mandi morning

Crates on the rear rack, two people, packed earth that turns to soup after rain. Ground mode for the 3.75 m PMGSY stretch, skip-lift for the 800 m kachcha feeder.

School pair

Payload stays at two persons plus bags. The canopy and belts are the point — this is not a motorcycle in the rain. Skip the broken culvert, not the day.

Last-mile post

Narrow enough for a village lane, tall enough to hop a washed-out shoulder. The same three-wheel service culture as the auto, with a fan pack you can rinse.

Energy

Count the holes, not just the kilometres.

Ground cruise is cheap. Each 40 m skip-lift costs about 0.55 kWh — roughly five kilometres of laterite. Plan the feeder, not the highway.

T2 specification

Numbers that survive a monsoon.

Skip-lift is a burst, not a flight rating. Thrust is sized for 498 kg all-up with a 1.3× margin, in ground effect, for eight seconds.

Configuration

Reverse trike

One steer wheel, two driven rears — auto-rickshaw stance on a 3.0–3.75 m PMGSY carriageway.

Seating

2 adults

Side-by-side 920 mm bench, 180 kg combined with 20 kg of cargo.

All-up mass

498 kg

318 kg kerb + 180 kg two-up. Designed around a 1.3× hover thrust margin.

Ground drive

2 × 6 kW hubs

Rear in-hub motors, 55 km/h limited, 35 km/h rural cruise.

Skip-lift

4 × 0.62 m ducts

360 kW peak for 6–10 s bursts. Ceiling 1.2 m AGL, ground-effect cushion.

Pack

14.4 kWh LFP

90% usable. 15 A 230 V kirana-shop charge, CCS2 optional.

Ground range

95 km

Two-up, 35 km/h, 35 °C. About 0.11 kWh/km on laterite and broken blacktop.

Hop budget

14 skips

Each 40 m / 8 s hop uses ~0.55 kWh. Not a flying car — a pothole skipper.

Detect

Stereo + ultrasonic

Flags holes deeper than 80 mm or wider than 400 mm at 12 m.

Climate

IP67 / 50 °C

Monsoon wade 250 mm on wheels. Dust, laterite, and 45 °C soak tested.
